I love taking mini vacations all throughout the year, it is so fun to have something to look forward to! When the trip is a surprise, it makes it even more fun and exciting! This past weekend, Kyle planned an overnight trip to Chattanooga as my birthday gift. Friday afternoon we left and stayed at a nice hotel called "The Chattanoogan Hotel", we arrived around 7:30 and dinner was calling our name. We walked down to Millers Plaza, which was a few blocks away from our hotel, but seemed like miles when you are as paranoid of the dark as I am. They were having a concert series that we wanted to check out, assuming it would be like the concert series in Hendersonville. To our surprise it was a HUGE event that they put on every Friday night in the summer, shutting down the plaza. After watching a few minutes of the Irish band we headed to a local restaurant called "Market Street Tavern". When we finished our meal we headed back to the hotel to get some much needed relaxation in the hot tub before our busy day Kyle had planned for us! :)

Relaxation!
Saturday we got to sleep in, which felt so nice! I headed to the gym to get a workout in, stopped by the spa and got a cup of coffee (no massage, just coffee!). Kyle and I went to Panera Bread for breakfast, wasn't the best idea we ever had! Since I am off of bread it was torture looking at all those yummy pastries and bagels that I love to eat! Next on our agenda was Ruby Falls where we got a tour through a beautiful cave. Kyle and I really enjoyed looking at the beauty that naturally formed over all the years and listening to the history behind the findings of this 145 foot underground waterfall.
My favorite part of the day was touring Rock City. The landscapes were beautiful and the trails were nice and cool. As Kyle and I were walking through the trails it was so quiet, all we could hear was the sound of classical music playing, Kyle said cant you imagine Heaven being like this? I so could, it was so peaceful, only nature surrounding you. I loved looking out and seeing 7 different states, that was so wild to me. When we left Rock City we had some big appetites so "Sticky Fingers" was just the place to be!
Our next destination was Center Hill Lake where we met up with my family. We arrived just in time for dinner! After dinner we played Mad Gab (a crazy game that my family is just not good at, lol!), and we watched Madea's Big Happy Family, then after every one went to bed Kyle, Hannah, Madeline, and myself stayed up and watched a scary movie in our room.
Thank you Kyle for making my birthday so special, it was over and above anything I had expected! I Love You! :)
