Community Gardens

Community Gardens can be anything you make it out to be. It can be in urban, suburban, or rural areas. It can grow flowers, vegetables, or community. Hendersonville would be a great place to start a community garden and Hendersonville Produce is in the process of making that happen!

**Some benefits of a community garden would include:

Improves the quality of life for people in the garden
Provides a catalyst for neighborhood and community development
Stimulates Social Interaction
Encourages Self-Reliance
Beautifies Neighborhoods
Produces Nutritious Food
Reduces Family Food Budgets
Conserves Resources
Creates opportunity for recreation, exercise, therapy, and education
Reduces Crime
Preserves Green Space
Creates income opportunities and economic development
Reduces city heat from streets and parking lots
Provides opportunities for intergenerational and cross-cultural connections

There are lots of great things that could come out of this garden and hopefully there will be more community gardens that will be able to stem from this one.

More information Coming Soon! :)
