Good Food!

Bow Ties with Chicken and Spinach.... you will want to try this, TRUST ME! I made this last night and it was so good! It was super easy to make and you can add as much or take away anything you want. I didn't use any measurements just added a little of this and a little of that. :)

Cook pasta according to package.
Thaw spinach.
Cut chicken in cubes and toss in flour, salt, pepper, and thyme.
Saute red onion in EVOO then add chicken... cook through.
Add a can of diced tomatoes, some chicken broth, and spinach.

In a saute pan melt butter, grate two cloves of garlic, then add some chicken broth, and some half and half.
Slowly add flour and whisk together until thick, but not to thick.
Combine all ingredients.
Add a little Parmesan cheese and pepper.

ENJOY!

Like Finding Good Deals?

ME TOO!

I am obsessed with finding old objects and putting them in my home. My goal is to make our home feel as if you have walked straight up in a cottage from a magazine.... we still have a ways to go! I have lots of cost effective projects on my list and one of them is making all our "new" furniture look old.

This weekend Kyle and I ventured to the Nashville Flea Market to find some good ideas for his photography (www.kgcapture.com) and also to find some things for our house. We ended up leaving with some old mason jars that have a blue tint to them and one that is clear. I want to use them in a fall table arrangement... cant wait! :)
After we left the flea market we went to the Goodwill in rivergate to look in their furniture section. I found a super cute glass jar table lamp. I have been keeping an eye out for these, but they are so expensive! We found this one for 4 dollars and some change. I had some left over sand and seashells from our wedding that I put in the lamp and found a linen lamp shade at Target that I liked... I used a gift card. All together I spent about 5 bucks!

( The window pane you see on the wall I found at an Antique store in Florida... I got it for $10.00 and at the Flea market they were starting at $45.00!)

Crafting With Seashells

While we were in Florida I went to a little boutique called "Lillypads" and found these super cute seashell plaques. They were selling them for $12.00 a piece which I thought was a little much especially since they looked so simple to make. Last week I finally finished getting all the supplies and got to crafting! :)

Suplies Needed: 3 wall plaques $1.99 each, 3 seashells $2-3.00, burlap fabric from Joanns .69 cents, a gluegun, a ruler, and scissors. I spent a little over $12.00 for all 3! :)

On the 3rd of July we had a nice picnic dinner with some family and friends, headed over for some ice cream, and then watched the fireworks in Hendersonville!

Myself and the cake pops that I made... cant wait to try out all different kinds of designs!

Anniversary

On Sunday June 26th it was our 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Kyle and I were blessed enough to celebrate this special day while in Florida. Kyle proposed to me while on vacation in July of 2009 on the same white sandy beaches that we were this year. Our day was filled with laying on the beach and swimming in the pool. When we had lunch I had surprised Kyle by getting Patty Cakes to make us cupcakes, the same flavors as our wedding cake. We were nice and decided to share them with the family! :) After soaking up as much rays as possible we got ready for a night out alone! We went out to a nice restaurant called "V" in Seagrove and it was wonderful! Our seat was facing the ocean and there were fountains around us. It was so much fun talking about our first year and what we hope for our future. After dinner, Kyle surprised me by taking me to the very spot that he proposed and we danced to our song from the wedding.

God has blessed us so much in this first year and I pray that we will continue to walk in the path that He has laid out for us. Kyle is a great husband and I strive daily to be the best wife I can be. :)

Our 1 Year Anniversary!

Summer Vacation!

Every year since I was a little bean my parents would take us on a summer vacation, most of the time we went to Destin or Seaside. My Aunt introduced us to this quaint little town right outside of Destin and ever since we have all been hooked. When Kyle and I started dating we took him with us and he fell in love just as much as we did. This year we were able to keep the tradition and go with my family to Seaside.
Every day we enjoyed the beach and pool until about 4:00, then we would head up to our condo and get dressed for our evening. Most nights we would eat, ride bikes, shop, and walk around Seaside. On Wednesday nights Seaside has concerts and on Friday nights they have a movie night, which we took advantage of. Kyle had 7 PHOTO SESSIONS, 2 of which he booked while in Florida. Next year we are hoping to stay longer so he can fit more sessions in! :)

Here is a little of what we enjoyed while on vacation! :)
