WE ARE ENGAGED!!!!!

Let me just say that this past week has been the best week of my life!! :) Kyle and I went down to Fl. on Saturday morning, we left the house around 4:00 a.m.! My parents were going to come down around 3:00 later on that day. On our way down we took our time and stopped and ate breakfast at Panera Bread, we had bagels and coffee and were able to sit outside beside a fountain... we stopped at in a very good part of Alabama! Our ride down went by very quickly and we had a lot of fun talking and joking around. I LOVE road trips with Kyle... its kinda weird to say but he kinda reminds me of my dad bc he used to always keep us entertained and now Kyle keeps me entertained while we are on the road; I discovered that Kyle makes a hilarious gay guy... lol!! When we arrived in Fl. we grabbed lunch at Whataburger, we were starving!!! At the house we unpacked the car and instead of going to the beach right away like you would expect us to do we passed out for like 2 1/2 hours, we intended on sleeping for only 30 minutes ,but whatever! :) When we got up it was around 5:00 so we got our swim suits on and went to the beach... this is where the MAGIC happened. We sat in our chairs for a while until Kyle said that he was going to go get his coke in the car and I was like alright. When he came back down he didn't have the coke... he said it was to hot so he threw it out. We took a walk down the beach and on the way back we were videoing and he asked me to video the sunset, so I turned around to video it and when I turned back around he had a piece of paper out. He read me a letter that he had written me ( it was EXTREMELY sweet and I will be getting it framed!), when he was finished he got down on one knee and asked me, Laura Jean Gammon, to marry him!!! I think we all know my answer.... I said of course I will!!! :) We celebrated for a few minutes by hugging, kissing, crying, and he picked me up. We also took pictures and had someone take our picture, I called my parents first and then my grandparents and friends. The only person that made me cry was my Granny... she was so proud and happy for us. I was so anxious for my parents to get there I could hardly wait!! We went out to TGIF to eat, went to Walmart to buy a water camera and by the time we got home my parents showed up shortly after that!! They were all VERY EXCITED and the rest is history!! We had a blast... I will write about our vacation in a separate blog. :)

Antiquing for fun...

I was reading through a home magazine on Monday and came across an article about antique shops in Lebanon and Franklin. I knew that I had off on Tuesday antique shopping sounded like it would be fun to do with a few of my girlfriends. I called them up and everyone was down with the plan... the next day we met up at my house and headed out to Lebanon. Our first stop was at a place called Cuz's Antiques, this place was very frightening and not anything that I would consider buying. After we left there we walked to a place called The Bull and Whistle and ate lunch, it was very good! All of the other shops we went in after lunch were neat and had lots of cute stuff. When we left Lebanon we headed back towards Hendersonville to get some ice cream and go to my house to relax before a few of the girls went to go see Harry Potter at the midnight showing... I'm not a Harry Potter fan so I didn't go. :)

ArtQuest

On Thursday I took the kids to the Frist Center for ArtQuest. They had been excited about it all week, because none of them had been there, nor knew what to expect. When we got there I was expecting it to be really busy, but luckily we were one of the first ones there. The first station that we did was painting, just in case it started to get busy we wanted to make sure and get the big stations finished first. There were TONS of cool stations that they really enjoyed! I really like how all the stations exercised their brain and made them be creative. After we left the ArtQuest we ventured over to Centennial Park, we walked around and looked at the big airplane and locomotive that they have there. We also went and played at the park for a little bit and then we walked all around the Parthenon and climbed up all the BIG steps. After we left we were pooped and very hot, but by the time we got back on our side of town we were cooled down enough so I took them to my grandparents house to look at all the goats and dogs. They LOVE animals especially my bunny... lol! We had a very adventurous day and I can say that I was very tired by the end of it. After I cooked dinner for my family I just wanted to prop my feet up and cuddle with Kyle! :)

Typical Tuesday

Yesterday I had Jack and Emilee and believe it or not we have not been to the park yet this summer, so we decided that after we were finished with "school work" we would go grab Mickey D's and go eat at the park. After our picnic we fed the ducks our left over fries and some hamburger buns, those ducks were nuts!!! We played at the park for a while... I love this park ,because its so nice and shaded! After they got good and hot I took them Barnes and Noble and the fountains in Hendersonville. I was just going to run in and use the bathroom, but then I remembered that they had a neat little kids area that I knew they would like. When we were finished with the fountains we went to my moms store, Hendersonville Produce, to see how bees make hunny. Surprisingly Emilee already knew most all of the answers that the Bee man asked her! :) They loved looking at the bees and asking MANY questions. We were also able to take home some sweet snacks, watermelon, strawberries, and bananas! We had a great day ... I always look forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays! :)

4th of July!

On the 4th of July my family woke up to Mom making French toast.. yum yum!! She rarely gets to take off work, so she wanted to treat us while she could! :) After we all got ready we went to our church to celebrate and grill out! Before we ate a few of us started up a game of volleyball... I forgot how competitive I get when I play! We had a so much fun we wanted to play again after we ate, by this time it was extremely hot... it took me a good 30 min to get cooled off afterwards! While I was inside some of the guys played horseshoe and im sure they had fun! After Kyle and I left we went to Nashville to hang out for the rest of the afternoon. We found us really good seats and we didnt move once we got there! It started raining late that afternoon which was an adventure, Kyle had to buy us ponchos even though we had an umbrella. After the rain slowed down we decided to leave our chairs and cooler in our spot and go grab something to eat at SATCO, my favorite! When we got back they informed us that there was bad weather coming through, but they were going to continue with the show. We decided to stay and at the first sight of rain we would leave... you could say we were determined to see the fireworks! Right before the show Wynonna Judd sang which was a HUGE surprise to me and our friends also showed up just in time for the show. About 15 min. into the show it started pouring rain... it was awful. We packed up and started walking to the car, on the way there the rain slowed and Kyle wanted to stop so we could see the finale. After we got to the parking garage it took us 45 min. just to get out of the garage!!!! It was nuts, but we had an awesome day! After we finally got back home Amanda and Matt came over to join us for a late night movie and coffee, lets just say after I had my coffee and watched about 30 minutes of the movie I was out!!! I think the heat wore me out!!

Hendersonville Fireworks on the 3rd!

The day before the 4th of July, Kyle and I were invited to Michael and Adrians house for a cookout with some of their friends. We gladly accepted the offer and I went over after I got off work to get my pasta salad made. While we were over there we ate, played some corn hole, watched the kids play and just hung out. After we left Kyle and I met up with my family at Drakes Creek Park. We let the kids play on some of the bouncy things they had out there and we bought some cute little toys for them to have. The firework show was so good and I really enjoyed watching it with most of my cousins... they made it so much more entertaining! After we watched the fireworks Kyle and I went to eat ice cream with some friends, when we finally got out of traffic. We had so much fun and I am already looking forward to next year! I think we are going to try and sit by the band and get there in the afternoon, so we can enjoy more of the activities! :)

Picnic! :)

Kyle and I decided to have a little picnic on Wednesday night after we both got off work. The weather this week has been perfect, so we wanted to do something fun outdoors! Last year for my birthday the couple I babysit for gave me a Williams- Sonama picnic backpack... it has everything you can imagine in it!! I got to use it for the first time this week and was very excited about it. We went to Kroger to get some deli sandwiches and other goodies that we wanted then headed to the park! It was very nice and relaxing just spending time together and laying under the trees! :)
